Many today are celebrating the birth of a Man who was killed more than two thousands years ago by the rich and powerful leaders of that time for being a liberal, left leaning advocate of peace, the poor, the weak, the downtrodden and the outcast.
I used to wonder if a like-minded man, in times such as these, could ever lead a nation of peoples such as those? Or if its rich and powerful leaders would choose to plot against him, question his birth, call him names, try to kill him or worse; choose his opposite?
Truth be told: I wish I still had to wonder.
Merry Alt-Christmas to all, and to all a good Sol night.
I’m not observing Paganism. I’m just ignoring Christianity. Duh!
I used to feel the same way. I was always angry about the commercialization of Christmas. Man is flawed. What I see now is time in a season with family and loved ones to triumph and defeat the lie (s) with the unification of God’s love manifested in Christ.
True. Merchants market Christ’ Mass. The clergy pimps Him. Man is indeed flawed. And, alas, I’m just a man. I’m not angry about that. I’m free. Don’t need a particular day or season to celebrate life, love, family, friends. I just needed today. Hope I get tomorrow to do it again. Hope you do too. Thanks for sharing. 😉
Just saw tv commercial aiming to help people get over from holiday debts… duh! When will people learn? The season and celebration is spiritual, I feel. Thanks for your intense post share, xmatman! Peace!
